The Goods Line to Darling Harbour
This involves a walk
if you need a safe route from Central Station down to Darling Harbour, The Goods Line is the best connection. It links the railway precinct to the harbour without needing to fight traffic on the streets.
The Route:
Start: Head to the south end of Central Station near the Devonshire St Tunnel.
The Tunnel: Head north-west through the pedestrian tunnel towards Railway Square. Note: You really need to walk your bike through here—it is 400m long and usually packed with commuters.
The Goods Line: When you exit the tunnel, continue straight past UTS onto The Goods Line. This is a shared path that runs all the way to the Powerhouse Museum.
Finish: Take the short ramp down to Darling Drive.
From here, you are on a separated cycleway that connects you easily to the Harbour Bridge, Glebe, or Balmain. It’s a short link, but it fills a critical gap in the city network. Video follows
