East Ride 6 - Bondi Junction to Moore Park Rd
Welcome to Ride Number 6. We’re taking the game-changing Bondi Junction cycleway, cruising down the essential Moore Park pop-up, and connecting straight into Fitzroy Street. This is one of the most popular links in the East, and today, I’m showing you exactly why you need to ride it.
Let’s go.
The Route
This ride features one of the great infrastructure achievements of 2022—the Bondi Junction Cycleway—paired with the absolute necessity that is the Moore Park Road pop-up. It’s a route that proves city riding doesn’t have to be a battle.
🚴 The Start: We kick off at Bondi Junction (Syd Einfeld Drive), traversing the separated lanes on Oxford St and Spring St.
🌳 The Park: Next, we follow the cycleway down the north side of Centennial Park.
⬇️ The Cruise: Then, we hit Moore Park Rd. This is a wide, fully operational pop-up cycleway with a manageable downhill slope. It’s fully separated, meaning you get the speed without the stress.
🏁 The Finish: Finally, a quick tail down Fitzroy St (utilizing the old bus lane) connects us to the Bourke St Cycleway.
Why You’ll Love It
Beyond the safety, this route is just efficient. You’ll hit fewer traffic lights on the Moore Park Rd cycleway than you would on the main road, and the separation from cars makes it a stress-free link between the Junction and the inner city.
